Its still a world of Slaughter...

Wednesday, 7 November.

After a dinner if fish n chips, another couple games of "Smallworld" and some Bourbon.
Still just the two player version with Slim.

Called the first game early in round 8 as my Dragon Master Amazons built on an already good start and Slim's Alchemist Elves were being pounded every round.

The second game was a win to Slim as he worked a very successful strategy with the Mounted Skeletons and then Sorcerers that my Fortified Giants and Flying Ratmen couldn't contain. A solid win to Slim there.

Can't wait to try this game with more players now.

Melbourne Cup Day = Games!

Tuesday, 6th November.

Melbourne Cup and a public holiday and Slim 'n' Rach visiting... perfect opportunity for some good food, great wine, fun games with great friends!

First the old favourite of "Phase 10". Rach again reminding us of her capability to dominate card games.

Then a go at "Star Fluxx". Not as popular with the ladies. Although easy to follow, the rapidly changing nature of the game seemed to put them off, and the theme (although enjoyed) was not enough to recapture interest.

Rapidly packed away again. It might do better with the CanCon guys, have to try it then.

Then a game of "Forbidden Island" (without the kids, they were entertaining themselves already). Not as close a game as last time, perhaps we were a bit liberal with the interpretation of the rule about when to adjust your hand size, so some treasures were recovered quite quickly. Still an exciting game well enjoyed.

Another round of "Phase 10", because it is a favourite.

Finished the day with a game of "Smallworld" with Slim. The merchant ghouls and underworld amazons were just pipped by Slim.
Definitely a good buy, that game!

Forbidden Island

Bought this awesome board game for the family.  Cooperative game style so we don't have to worry about one of the kids losing.

Gets tense as the island starts sinking and we are wondering who's going to pick up the next card that makes it worse!

Played this Friday with Weis and Kr and Kn and had a blast!

We recovered the treasures and got off the island just in time as the last bits of the island sunk right behind us!
